The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E. A. Adeboye, has come to the defence of Ayo Oritsejafor, president of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, concerning the criticisms and allegations of his involvement in the $9.3M botched deal which involved the use of his jet.

Recently, a jet from Nigeria containing millions of dollars was reportedly seized in South Africa and two Nigerians with an Israeli arrested on the grounds of illegally transporting such amount of money into the country without declaring it. It was also reported that the jet was owned by CAN president Pastor Oritsejafor, an issue which sparked criticism and condemnations around the country of Nigeria and even beyond.

NHRC Boss Condemns Oritsejafor

"I was driving on the road one day when I saw a large number of policemen and civil defence (Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps) in a convoy. I thought it was a governor or president that was passing by because the security operatives pushed my vehicle aside". This was a statement made by the boss of NHRC - National Human Rights Commission.

Youths in Kaduna state under the aegis of Kaduna Patriotic Youths for Development on Sunday condemned former minister of the Federal Capital Territory and aspiring governor of the state Mallam Nasir El-Rufai for insulting Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, the president of CAN, the Christian Association of Nigeria, over the latter's alleged involvement in the 9.3million USD smuggled cash into Johannesburg, South Africa.
