CAN President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, and ex-,ilitant Alhaji Dokubo Asari, have been found not guilty and not involved in $9.3M botched deal.

The panel which cleared the pastor and the Niger Delta ex-militant of any complicity in the matter is a panel which was specially set up to unravel the alleged involvement of the men in the arms deal.

A source privy to the findings of the team confirmed that the CAN president, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor had no connection with the transaction, and that the ex militant, Mujahideen Asari Dokubo was not on board the aircraft as he was accused.

The source said that the findings of the special team revealed that the Office of the National Security Adviser was responsible for the failed arms deal.

The source also said that the committee's findings revealed that the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) has the statutory and legitimate mandate to issue end-user certificates for such arms transactions, and that the imputations surrounding the role of the ONSA were unfounded, baseless and ill-motivated.

"The decision of South Africa to return $15 million to Nigeria lent credence to the legality of the transaction. Certainly, Nigeria had no case to answer", the source added.
