Synagogue Church Of All Nations Building Collapses

Scores of worshipers are feared dead following the collapse of a building of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations building in Ikotun, Lagos on Friday.

The collapse of the six-storey building is reported to have claimed the lives of no fewer than 50 people, with some others severely injured. The incident was said to have happened at about 2pm.

The affected building is said to be reserved for foreigners visiting the church to seek spiritual help. It was reported that three ambulances which came to the rescue were seen carrying out dead bodies of the victims from the incident. There is yet to be an official confirmation of the number of casualties.

A correspondent from the News Agency of Nigeria who was at the scene reported that ambulances were seen taking people out of the collapsed building to the Isolo General Hospital.

An eye witness who spoke to NAN on anonymity said that the building was a four storey building, but was converted to a seven storey building, to accomodate more visitors.

"We were all surprised with this incidence", he said.  "At about 1:30 pm, the building collapsed while people were inside".

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, National Emergency Management Agency, and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps were reported to have been on ground.

Policemen were also seen dispersing the huge crowd that gathered to witness the ongoing events.

The general overseer of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations, SCOAN, Prophet T.B. Joshua, is known for healing and working of miracles globally.
