Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has inaugurated the Governing Council of the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode, with a promise to end graduate unemployment in the state.

Speaking while inaugurating the 18-member council, chaired by the former Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Prof. Olufemi Bamiro, in his Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta office, Amosun said efforts to bring an end to graduate unemployment were in top gear, and graduates from the state would soon be sought after by employers of labour.

He described the appointment of members of the governing board as a demonstration of his administration’s resolve to restore the glorious era of the institution and put it on the right track.

He enjoined the council members to justify the confidence reposed in them by bringing their rich pedigree to bear in taking the institution to greater heights.

“I want to congratulate you on this appointment but you have to realise the enormity of the assignment. I expect you to be innovative and adaptive, making bricks without straw, if need be. You must abide by the oath of office and justify the confidence reposed in you by the state government and the good people of the state.
“You should realise that your contributions will to a large extent determine the future of this institution. I don’t know of any assignment that can be more than a call to shape the future of our children. Be assured that your performance in this assignment will be judged by posterity,” Amosun said.
