Vincent Enyeama has calmed doubts over his Nigeria national team future by declaring his intention to continue representing the Super Eagles.

Enyeama's schedule at Lique 1 outfit Lille is set to pile up in the upcoming campaign, with UEFA Champions League football on the horizon.

He had hinted at the idea of stepping down from national duty after the World Cup in Brazil, but has now changed his tune and is looking to add to his 94 caps.

"I never said I will never play for the Super Eagles again," he explained to SuperSport. "I only said I will consult with my family which is a normal thing to do.

"I am still very much a national team player," he confirmed, after collecting the Award for Excellence at the annual Ibom Football Awards in his hometown of Uyo.

The honour was in recognition of his stellar performances in France last season, which the 31-year-old described as "special".

"I am really pleased with this award," the goal-minder added. "I want to thank the Guvaps management for this.

"I have won many accolades in my career but to be honoured by my people in Akwa Ibom State is special.

"Charity begins at home so this means a lot to me. I will continue working harder to achieve even more."

Enyeama made his debut for the Super Eagles in 2002 and is set to be named the permanent captain of the side, following Joseph Yobo's retirement from international football.
